How to edit your order with Ocado
We all know the feeling of getting back from the supermarket and realising you’ve forgotten something but at Ocado, that’s a problem easily solved. Unless your order is due very shortly, there’s still time to edit your Ocado order. You can edit or cancel orders right up to their cut-off time, which is usually the day before the delivery is due. This way you have the chance to get everything you need and can add those last-minute items right up until the last minute.
Have a read of these FAQs and watch the video below to find out how to edit your Ocado order.
How do I change or edit the items in my order on the website?
Find the order you want to change by clicking on My Orders, then click ‘Edit’ on the order. You can then add products by shopping as usual or remove products by going to ‘View Trolley’. Here you’ll also have the option to change your delivery slot.
If you already have items in your trolley, when you click ‘Edit’ you’ll be asked if you want to add those items to the existing order or leave them in the trolley for a new order.
How do I change or edit the items in my order on the app?
Look for the order you want to change on the homepage. Tap the order and then select ‘Edit order’. Or you can find the products you want to add, and tap ‘One Click’ to add them to your trolley right away.
What happens if I don’t have time to finish my order?
Your basket will be saved but when you book a delivery slot before shopping or checking out, that delivery slot is only reserved for 60 minutes. The slot will only be confirmed once you have checked out and entered your payment details.
Other useful things to remember:
Don’t forget to check out again once you’ve finished editing. If you don’t, the changes you made to your order won’t be saved. You can edit an order as many times as you like until its cut-off time which is usually the day before the delivery is due.
How do I cancel an order?
On our website or app, go to Orders. Find the order you wish to cancel, and select ‘Cancel order’. You can edit or cancel orders right up to their cut-off time, which is usually the day before the delivery is due. If you need to cancel an order after its cut-off time, please fill in our contact form here. This will allow us to prioritise your query and deal with it as quickly as possible.
However, if you cancel after the cut-off time, you may be charged for the perishable items in your order.
Can I change the delivery address of an order?
Because all of our routes are planned in advance, you can’t change the delivery address of an order that’s been placed as our availability is based on local routes. You can cancel this order and place a new one to the new address. To add a new address simply sign in and go to your ‘Account Settings’ page (which is under My Ocado) and select ‘Delivery Addresses’ where you can add and delete addresses on your account.
Are you not going to be in for your delivery, or need to leave a delivery note for your driver?
If you aren’t going to be in for your delivery, don’t worry! With your permission, we’ll try to leave your shopping in a safe place.
You can add delivery instructions on your account in the address book here or when you check out your order to let us know a preferred safe place. Please be aware that we cannot leave age-restricted items unattended.
If your delivery’s due today and you know you’re not going to be in please let us know via our Contact us page.
How do I check the delivery status of my order?
You can check the status of your delivery on the homepage when you’ve logged in. You’ll see your order status in a yellow box. Here you’ll see if your order is expected to arrive on time or if we think that we might be late.
We’ll also text you to let you know that your delivery is on its way. Make sure you’ve opted in to receive texts here, and soon, if you download our App, you’ll receive push notifications when we’re outside your property.
What happens if my delivery is going to be late?
We always try to deliver on time, but there are things we can’t control such as traffic. If your delivery driver is running late, they will get in touch by calling you. If your order is late leaving our fulfilment centre, we will send you an SMS.
If there are any issues, please fill in our Contact Us form. This will allow us to prioritise your query and deal with it as quickly as possible.
When will you charge me for my shopping?
We won’t take payment for your shopping until after it has been delivered. However, like most retailers, we do a standard pre-authorisation with your bank a day or so before your delivery is booked.
