Looking Back At 2020 With Ocado

2020 has been, to say the least, a very interesting year in groceries. From stocking up on toilet roll, to billions of banana breads baked, to M&S arriving at Ocado – shopping has never been more important, so what better time to look back on what we’ve achieved this year.
Your Ocado Year in Review
To say a big thank you for shopping with us, here’s a video to celebrate what you bought this year (and how it made a difference). Check it out below – watch it, love it, and share it. Just remember to add the hashtag #MyOcado2020.
For Goodness Bakes
The products you love

Welcoming M&S to the Ocado family was a highlight for us this year and it looks like you’ve loved it too, ordering 564,190 bags of Percy Pigs and 73,830 Colin the Caterpillars since September.

You all showed sweet sweet love this Valentine’s, buying 317,558 chocolate bars over the romantic season. We’re not sure how everyone ate theirs but we do know you still bought a lot of Cadbury Crème Eggs over Easter – 207,204 to be exact. Halloween was a bit different this year but you still wanted to carve a Jack-o-lantern this spooky season, and we sold just under 80,000 pumpkins.

The best-selling product for 2020 was (drumroll please…) the Ocado own-label cucumber. Unfortunately, Miss Cucumber can’t be with us today (she’s been delivered more than 3 million times), but we accept this award on her behalf.
A Tree-mendous Year For Sustainability
Our customers donated over £4m through our You Give We Give scheme in 2020. We matched this to bring our total to over £8m in cash and food donations. We’ve also donated 100k to WRAP who educates on recycling in schools, and recycled over 1,000 tonnes of our plastic bags this year. We’ve recently donated £562k to Trees for Cities to plant 100,000 trees. In 2021 we are also fully funding 12 vans for food banks, enabling them to pick up and distribute fresh and chilled products.
