This week’s Wine of the Week is a highly recommended prosecco

The summary:

About the region: The famous house of Bolla in Italy make a super prosecco, which comes from the heart of the region in the best area for soil and climate, between the towns of  Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. While Conegliano plays host to famous wine institutes, Valdobbiadene is the productive heart of the area for wine. The steep slopes of the hills are ideal for producing superior quality prosecco and Bolla is one of the best-known and oldest producers in the region.

Notes: The wine has a pleasant creamy mousse with refreshing citrus aromas, followed by delicately flavoured lemon zest and clean, refreshing undertones. Not too heavy with bright dry crispness and clean apple fruits. A nice long bubbly finish.

Drink with: Great on its own or with light fish dishes, or of course top it up with some puréed tinned peaches for a delicious Bellini.

So, that’s this week’s Wine of the Week. If you’re looking for a crisp and refreshing prosecco for Christmas this is perfect and I highly recommend it. I’d love to hear your thoughts too so please remember to post comments here, on Facebook and Twitter, or simply leave a review on the product page.
