How to get the country living look

Nothing says home quite like the country living look. Snuggly throws, cute patterns and botanical prints set against a nature-inspired colour scheme create inviting interiors, perfect for sinking into after long country walks.

The Dulux colours I’ve chosen add to the softness of this understated style, taking inspiration from cloudy days spent by the coast. Blue reflection, a delicate tone with a hint of green, creates an air of relaxation and combines beautifully with Cornflower White to add elegance. Keep the overall look fresh and stylish with White Cotton on ceilings and woodwork.

Don’t forget you can order the tester pots first to make sure the shade is right for your room.

Add soft, cosy touches with throws – like the Waffle Throw from Raine & Humble, which comes in a soft, cloudy blue.

And take inspiration from the countryside itself, in particular the archetypal English Country Garden. Beefayre candles smell gorgeous, have beautiful illustrations, and 3% of profits are donated to bee conservation. The Bluebell candle is perfect for this style.

On that theme, introduce wildlife motifs with prints – like the Nordal bee Wall Picture – and patterned ceramics – like the Katie Alice English Garden Fly Away Tankard.

Finally, don’t forget that finishing touches will tie the whole look together. Look for details in a complementary blue, such as the Nkuku coat hook.
