It wouldn’t be Bonfire Night without a hot glass of delicious mulled wine. That’s why this week I’ve chosen our November bestseller as my Wine of the Week. About the wine
It’s a red wine blended with subtle flavours of cinnamon cloves and the zest of oranges and lemons, providing a delicious drink with lots of spice and fruit character – here’s how I’ll be serving mine next week.
How to make Julian’s mulled wine
Serve warm to bring out the zest fruity aromas and flavours.
To heat, transfer the contents to a saucepan and heat gently until hot.
Add sugar to taste and do not allow to boil. Alternatively, microwave a mug full on ‘high’ for maximum of 60 seconds.
Please note that this is an approximate guideline as microwaves vary. Take care when removing the hot liquid from the microwave.
For extra flavour, add 4 tablespoons of brandy, or even a splash of Cointreau (depending on your mood).
Alternatively, you can heat your mulled wine in a slow cooker: just heat gently with the heat set on high for about thirty mins.
