Calvet Touraine Sauvignon Blanc
Grape: Sauvignon
Region: Loire
Price: £8.99
About the grape: The Loire is the spiritual home of the sauvignon grape. The best examples are grown in the Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé regions of Loire but this week’s wine comes from the Touraine region, which produces a slightly less dry version of sauvignon.
About the wine: A slightly less dry sauvignon that is very versatile and tremendous value.
Notes: All the trademark sauvignon aromas of cut grass, light gooseberries and hints of green pepper.
Drink with: Works very well on its own but also a perfect partner to light snacks, fish, chicken salads and starters.
Price: £8.99
So, that’s this week’s Wine of the Week. If you’re looking for a great value sauvignon blanc I highly recommend it. I’d love to hear your thoughts too so please remember to post comments here, on Facebook and Twitter, or simply leave a review on the product page.
Santé!
