Five ice creams you should try this summer

As Ice Cream Buyer at Ocado, I might just have one of the best jobs going. I’ve tried a freezer-load of treats so you don’t have to (it’s OK, no need to thank me) – here’s my pick of the best.

The Licktators – New and exclusive to Ocado. The Licktators want to revolutionise Ice Cream. With lots of different flavours from Cinnamon Doughnut to Popcorn they are making a good start. My favourite is Marshmallow Law, creamy and stuffed with Marshmallows.

Mövenpick – Iconic Swiss ice cream, the large tubs are exclusive to Ocado. It’s real decadence and perfect to treat yourself with. Made with Swiss cream and no artificial additives or colours. My favourites is the Maple Walnut made with real Canadian maple syrup and caramelised walnuts.

Ice Cream Union – Made in Bermondsey, their Argentinian owners wanted to do their own take on the Argentine classic, Dulce De Leche. Take it out of the freezer, let it warm for 10 minutes, then devour. It’s smooth, tasty and a perfect treat.

Booja-Booja – Just because you can’t eat dairy doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat ice cream. This is 100% raw, organic, soya and gluten-free as well as dairy-free. Delicious, rich and amazing whether you have allergies or not. My favourite is Hunky Punky Chocolate. Yum!

Lick Frozen Yogurt – Tasty, natural and almost guilt-free. Comes in four delicious flavours: Natural; Blueberry & Raspberry; Banana & Honey; and Strawberry & Elderflower. Plus 5% of their profits go to Brighton Peace & Environment Centre. My Favourite is the Banana & Honey.
