Take care with Dove Spa

DoveSpaDecember 2011

At this time of year, moisture-sapping cold winds and central heating mean we should be taking more care of our skin. But somewhere between gift shopping and party planning, looking after yourself gets forgotten.

So to coincide with the launch of Dove Spa beauty products on the website (the only place you can buy them outside Dove’s own spas), I thought I’d give you a few simple tips to see you through the season.

First is just to get yourself into a routine. It sounds obvious, but morning and night if you have an easy routine to follow, you won’t forget to apply those products that really help to replenish your skin.

Depending on your skin type, I recommend a reviving cleanser in the morning such as the Satisfying Wash & Scrub, followed by an easily-absorbed day cream with an SPF like the Illuminating Day Lotion.

In the evening, use a gentle make-up remover before washing with something that won’t strip the skin, like a cleansing milk or foam. Follow with a nourishing moisturiser such as the Sumptuous Night Cream.

I’d also recommend exfoliating about once a week to remove surface-dulling dead skin cells. The Pore Reduction Scrub is great for getting your glow back!

Don’t forget to have a good pampering session every now and again too. Hot baths and luxurious body scrubs will leave you feeling renewed, but follow up with a body lotion as hot water can actually dehydrate the skin.

Other than that, eat plenty of vitamin and antioxidant-rich fresh fruit and veg, and keep hydrated with lots of water – especially if the champagne’s flowing…

Well, I hope that’s been a bit of reminder to look after you this party season. Have a wonderful and relaxing Christmas. You deserve it.
